MUARA, Thursday, 27 May 2021 – The Royal Brunei Navy conducted an information sharing session with the Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS PARRAMATTA via video teleconference broadcasted from the Multi-National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara Naval Base.
Present at the MNCC during the VTC was Ms Chintana Vongpaseuth, Deputy High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam, Lieutenant Colonel Dan Hauser, Australian Defence Adviser to Brunei Darussalam. Representing Royal Brunei Navy was Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, Chief of Staff Royal Brunei Navy and Commander Pengiran Faren bin Mohd Noor, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM. Meanwhile representing HMAS PARRAMATTA was Commander Anita Mary Nemarich, Commanding Officer.
The discussions centered on the conduct of boarding operations by the two navies. The interaction program serves as a productive platform to exchange knowledge and experiences when conducting such operations. On completion of the discussion, a virtual gift exchange was held between RBN and HMAS PARRAMATTA.
Her Excellency Tiffany McDonald participated later on in the program for a bilateral discussion.
KDB DARULEHSAN, KDB SYAFAAT and HMAS PARRAMATTA is scheduled to conduct Passage Exercise (PASSEX) on Friday, 28 May 2021.
