KG. SUMBILING, 05 April, 2024 — 34 bachelor and bachelorette officers of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) organized a Donation Drive supported by Kunyit 7 Lodge, a local lodge based in Kg. Bakut Berumput at Kg. Ayer. The drive was also participated by three (3) International Officers from Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL) who are currently undergoing the Sub-Lieutenant Course (SLC) 2024 in Brunei.
The officers had successfully donated basic necessities such as eggs, fragrant rice and cooking oil to 10 underprivileged families across Kg. Ayer which includes Kg. Bakut Berumput, Kg. Pandai Besi, Kg. Pekan Lama, Kg. Pekilong Muara, Kg. Peramu and Kg. Tamoi. Members of the families also included elderly, single mothers, special needs children and differently abled individuals.
The objectives of the volunteer work is to give back to the community during the holy month of Ramadhan, promote culture of Sadaqah, social awareness and participation in community work as well as promote collaboration between the officers and local entrepreneurs.
This is the second time such a donation had been organized in the holy month of Ramadhan. Active participation in voluntary work will be continuously practised amongst the bachelor and bachelorettes as they aim to collaborate with other local entrepreneurs and NGOs in the near future.
