Royal Brunei Land Force Second Battalion, Tutong Camp, Thursday, 2 November 2023 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Half-Marathon and 10km Championship Event were organised by the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), at Second Battalion (2Bn). A total of five teams competed consisting of the RBLF, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), RBAirF, Special Forces Regiment (SFR), and the combined forces under the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) which consisted of the Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ), Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF) and Defence Academy RBAF (DA RBAF).
Present as the guest of honour was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Also present during the event was the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, RBN senior officers, officers, and other ratings.
Six categories were contested namely the Men Half Marathon Team, 10km Men Open category for 39 years old and below, and 40 years old and above, Women 10km Team, 10km Women Open category for 35 years old and above as well as 34 years old and below. This year’s event saw the RBN representatives winning the Women’s 34-year-old and below category in third place and the Men’s 10km open category in first place.
The event was successfully conducted, achieving its objective of advocating a healthy and fit lifestyle amongst RBAF officers and personnel and fostering camaraderie across all units.
