MUARA, Sunday – Thursday, 03 November 2019 – 07 November 2019 – Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed the arrival of Russian Federation Navy (RFN) RFS VARYAG, RFS ADMIRAL PENTELEEV and RFS PECHENGKA, as a goodwill visit to Brunei Darussalam beginning on Sunday, 03 November 2019 until Thursday, 07 November 2019.
Present to receive RFS VARYAG, RFS ADMIRAL PENTELEEV and RFS PECHENGKA was Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, Act Chief of Staff RBN. Also present were RBN officers and personnel.
Throughout the goodwill visit, Captain (Navy) Alexander T. Shvarz, The Commander of the 36th of Combat Ships of the Pacific Fleet had a courtesy call to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, RBN. Commander RBN gave a warm welcome to RBN and Brunei Darussalam and both sides discussed on the cooperation and naval interactions to further enhancement between the two navies.
RFS VARYAG held an onboard reception hosted by Captain (Navy) Alexander T. Shvarz and Commander RBN as the Guest of Honour. The onboard reception also attended by Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and RBN senior officers and officers from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and foreign ambassadors and military representatives in Brunei Darussalam.
Officers and personnel onboard RFS VARYAG, RFS ADMIRAL PENTLEEV and RFS PECHENGKA were anticipated to have a community service, football sport interaction between RFN and RBN personnel and cultural tours throughout their visit in Brunei Darussalam. This will be provide the avenue for both naval personnel to share experiences and knowledge as well as to foster friendship and esprit de corps.
