BERAKAS GARISON, Thursday, 30 August 2018 – The Battlefield First Aid Course series 3/2018 for Military and Civilian personnel of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ended today at Medical Services Training Wing, Combat Support Services , Royal Brunei Land Force (MSTW CSS RBLF), Berakas Garison.
15 personnel consisting of 7 personnel from RBN, six personnel from Technical Equiment Maintenance Division (TEMD) and two teachers from RBN Primary School completed the course and all the participants were awarded as Qualified First Aiders for a period of two years.
The course was conducted for four days which started from 27 August until 30 August 2018. Instructors were from MSTW CSS, RBLF led by 18344 Corporal Rafffizal bin Ramli, Head Course Coordinator and 21296 Sergeant Kamariah binti Hj Abu Bakar, Senior Staff Nurse. The course consisted of 80 percent practical and 20 percent theory. The core subjects are bandaging, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Battlefield First Aid.
The objective of this course is to understand the chain of survival and basic skills of life saving for different situations, and they can apply their first aid knowledge especially when they encounter any emergency situation.
The RBN will continue to send military and civilian personnel for future courses to ensure First Aid knowledge is maintained.
