MUARA, Wednesday, 14 June 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a Mess Dinner Night in conjunction with its 58th Anniversary at the RBN Officers’ Mess, Muara Naval Base.
Present as the Guest of Honour was the RBN Acting Commander, Captain Sarif Pudin bin Mat Serudin, RBN along with his wife, Dr Hjh Dayang Suzana bte Hj Awang Adenan. The Guest of Honour was welcomed by Lieutenant Commander Wan Abdul Naafi bin Metussin, Acting President of the Mess Committee (PMC) of the RBN Officers’ Mess and his wife, Siti Fatimah @ Norkhalifah binti Harlip.
The evening began in the Wardroom, with the Guest of Honour, members of the RBN Executive Board and their spouses had the opportunity to interact with the officers and spouses who were present during the event. Following that, everyone present was invited to the Mess Hall and the event officially commenced with the recitation of Doa Selamat led by Commander Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, the Director of RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT).
During the event, the Acting Commander of RBN addressed the importance of instilling the four core values of Royal Brunei Armed Forces: Loyalty, Piety, Courage, and Professionalism. As the backbone of the organization, it is essential for officers to implement these core values whilst carrying out their duties in preserving the maritime sovereignty. He then proceeded to acknowledge and congratulate RBN officers for their achievements throughout the year including those who were newly promoted, newly wedded, and became parents for the first time.
The event was also accompanied with musical performances by RBN’s band and a special performance by young officers. The Mess Dinner Night was concluded with an interaction session and a group photo session.
