BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sunday, 22 July 2018 – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to grace the “Riadah Berbasikal Keputeraan 2018” or Royal Birthday Recreational Cycling 2018, which was held in conjunction with His Majesty’s 72nd Birthday Celebration.
Joining His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and other members of the Royal family.
The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) joined the event which was jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Health and the Brunei Darussalam Cycling Federation, with the involvement of other ministries including the Ministry of Defence.
Among the participating officers were 1000 personnel from the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) which consists of 100 personnel from RBN, led by The Honourable Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Defence II.
Also taking part were Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the RBAF; Captain (Retired) Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, RBN, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence; First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi Bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN; Service Commanders, Deputy Permanent Secretaries and senior officers and staff from the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
