BATAM ISLAND, INDONESIA, Tuesday, 25 October 2022 – The Indonesian Navy (IDN) hosted the ASEAN Navy Chief’s Meeting (ANCM) Roadmap Working Group meeting on Tuesday, 25th October 2022. The meeting was conducted at the Hotel Santika Batam, Indonesia and was attended by representatives from ASEAN Navies. The purpose of the ANCM Roadmap working group meeting is to review and update the existing roadmap in ensuring relevancy as well as to produce a new roadmap for 2024 to 2032. The roadmap aims to lay a path for future cooperation between ASEAN Navies on multiple domains including exchanges of professional practices and training.

The ANCM Roadmap working group meeting was officiated by Captain Robert Marpaung, Senior Officer for Strategic Operation and Diplomacy. During his opening remarks, he extended a warm welcome to all delegated and expressed his confidence that this meeting will help to generate useful initiatives and guide future maritime cooperations among ASEAN partners.

Representing the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was Lieutenant Commander Nuruddin bin Haji Sidup, RBN, Staff Offcier Grade 2 Planning and Lieutenant Haji Asri bin Haji Awang Anuar, RBN, 2IC Maritime Technical School, Naval Training Centre.

In the chairman’s closing remarks, he conveyed his appreciation to all the delegations for their support and commitment in ensuring a successful conduct of the ANCM Roadmap working group meeting.
