MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 31 August 2023 – An educational visit from Perpustakaan Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka Sengkurong to Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) during this school holiday season was conducted consisting of fifty (50) members of young volunteers and five (5) staff members.
Their arrival was welcomed by RBN officers and ratings where the group was given an introductory brief highlighting career opportunities, roles and responsibilities in the RBN. The program also included visits to the Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) hangar as well as Base Defence where they were showed an anti-riot demonstration. Finally, the group participated in a ship tour to KDB DARUSSALAM and KDB DARULAMAN where they visited the Engine Control Room (ECR), ships’ bridge, flightdeck, sick bay and RHIC Deck.
This visit provided them with the opportunity to discover RBN assets and the personnel who support them, as well as to learn about the preparations required for career opportunity at the RBN. The visit concluded with a photo session in front of KDB DARUSSALAM and KDB DARULAMAN.
