MUARA, Monday, 10 September 2018 – The Commander Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad received a courtesy call from Vice Admiral Ben Key CBE Royal Navy (RN), United Kingdom’s Fleet Commander.
Accompanying Vice Admiral Ben Key were Commodore Robert Bellfield MA RN, Commander Devonport Flotilla; Captain Tim Neild MA RN, Commanding Officer of HMS Albion; Colonel Mike Page, Defence Adviser of the United Kingdom to Brunei Darussalam; and Captain Stuart Mitchell, Royal Marines, Naval Assistant to the Fleet Commander.
During the call, the Commander of RBN expressed his pleasure for the warm and friendly bilateral defence relations between the two countries. Both sides have actively participated in defence exhibitions, exercise and training, showing that both navies have the common interest in further strengthening RBN – RN relationship. The discussions during the courtesy call also touched on development of training between both navies.
Vice Admiral Ben Key and his delegation arrived in Brunei Darussalam on 7 September 2018 for the Exercise Setia Kawan III, a combined Brunei-UK demonstration that was held on 10 September at the Penanjong Garrison.
