MUARA, Friday, 21 February 2025 – Yesterday, The Royal Brunei Navy held a prestigious presentation and promotion ceremony at the Warrant Officer, Chief Petty Officer, and Petty Officer Mess, Muara Base. The ceremony marked the presentation of the Badge, Sam Browne Belt, and Sergeant Major Pace Stick to the newly appointed Sergeant Majors of the Royal Brunei Navy. These appointments included Warrant Officer 1 Mohammad Nasri bin Ladis as the Royal Brunei Navy Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer 1 Azreenazi bin Haji Omar as the Regiment Support Services Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer 1 Haji Mohammad Amirul Hashim bin Haji Abdullah as the Regiment Base Sergeant Major, and Warrant Officer 2 Rakimi bin Haji Awang Lakim as the Drill Sergeant Major.

Following this, the ceremony continued with the promotion of Warrant Officers under the Royal Brunei Navy’s Series 01, 02, and 03/2024. A total of 81 personnel received promotions, including nine Acting Warrant Officer 1s to Substantive Warrant Officer 1, six Substantive Warrant Officer 2s to Substantive Warrant Officer 1, 29 Acting Warrant Officer 2s to Substantive Warrant Officer 2, 35 Substantive Chief Petty Officers to Substantive Warrant Officer 2, and two Substantive Chief Petty Officers to Acting Warrant Officer 2.
The ceremony was officiated by Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. It was attended by Executive Committee Officers of the Royal Brunei Navy, senior officers, officers, department heads, warrant officers, and family members of the promoted personnel.
To commence the ceremony, the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah was led by Ustaz Mas Ismandi bin Hassan, Religious Teacher of Surau Al-Huda, followed by the recitation of Doa Selamat. The event concluded with a dining session and a group photo with the Guest of Honour.
