PNS SHAMSHEER AND PNS NASR OF THE PAKISTAN NAVY MAKES GOODWILL VISIT TO BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

MUARA, Saturday, 15 October 2022 – PNS SHAMSHEER and PNS NASR of the Pakistan Navy (PN) has departed Brunei Darussalam after conducting a 4-day Goodwill Visit from 11^th – 15^th October 2022.

Throughout the goodwill visit, Commodore Faisal Javeed Sheikh, Mission Commander, Captain Muhammad Fayyaz, Commanding Officer of PNS SHAMSHEER, and Captain Zohaib Najam Baig, Commanding Officer of PNS NASR, made a courtesy call to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Seruji @ Haji Serudi, RBN. Commander RBN gave a warm welcome to RBN and Brunei Darussalam and both sides discussed areas of mutual interest highlighting the longstanding cooperation and naval interaction held between the two navies.

PNS NASR held an onboard dinner reception hosted by Commodore Faisal Javeed Sheikh, Mission Commander with Commander RBN as the Guest of Honour. The onboard reception was also attended by His Excellency Major General (R) Farhat Abbas Sani, Pakistan High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, as well as members of the RBN Executive Board among other invited guests.

RBN personnel as well as their counterparts onboard PNS SHAMSHEER and PNS NASR also conducted community service in the form of a beach cleaning event in Muara Beach, sport interactions where they competed in football matches, as well as cultural tours throughout their visit in Brunei Darussalam.

During the visit, personnel from both navies also conducted a professional exchange in the form of ship visits where PN Personnel visited KDB DARUTTAQWA and RBN personnel reciprocated the visit to PNS SHAMSHEER.

Following the goodwill visit, KDB DARUTTAQWA conducted a passage exercise with PNS SHAMSHEER and PNS NASR where they conducted manoeuvring and communication drills before bidding farewell with a sail pass.

This interaction series represents a continuation of the warm and friendly relations between Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam as well as between both navies. RBN wishes PNS SHAMSHEER and PNS NASR fair winds and following seas for their voyage ahead.
