MUARA, Thursday, 25 October 2018 – Outgoing Defence Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam Colonel (CZI) Widiyanto and incoming Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam, Colonel (ARH) Zaenal Arifin paid a courtesy call to First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).
During the call, both incoming and outcoming Defence Attaché were welcomed by the Commander of RBN and held cordial discussions on a range of matters of mutual interests and bilateral importance.
Colonel (CZI) Widiyanto also expressed his gratitude towards RBN for the experience working with the RBN throughout his service. They also talked about the importance of Republic of Indonesia Navy and RBN relationship which has extended more than just between the two armed forces but also for both countries may it be in defence and in other key areas of significance to further deepened and strengthened the relationship in the future. Commander of RBN also conveyed his appreciation to Colonel (CZI) Widiyanto for his service and contribution as Defence Attaché since September 2015.
The courtesy call also coincides with the 4th Naval Working Group between Royal Brunei Navy and Indonesian Navy which began from 24 October 2018 until 26 October 2018.
The courtesy call concluded with Commander of RBN presenting a plaque as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation to Colonel (CZI) Widiyanto.
Incoming Defence Attaché, Colonel (ARF) Zaenal Arifin will begin his term as Defence Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam in November 2018.
