QINGDAO, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (PRC), Thursday, 25 April 2019 – Deck reception was held in conjunction with the opening ceremony for the ChinaSoutheast Asia Maritime Exercise 2019 (SEAMEX) onboard PLA (N) ship FFG 546 Yancheng. The SEAMEX 2019 started on the 24th April until tomorrow, 26th April 2019. The sea phase will be held in the waters off Qingdao. The event was co-chaired by the Royal Thailand Navy (RTN) and People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). In attendance as the guest of honour was His Excellency Admiral Luechai Rutdit, the Commander-In-Chief of The Royal Thai Navy. Also present for the event, the Commander in Chief of PLAN, His Excellency Vice Admiral Shen Jien Long, and the Chief of Staff of PLAN, Vice Admiral Qiu Yanpeng.

Invited guests include the Commanding Officers from the ships of participating navies. These include KDB DARUTTAQWA, 5 PLA (N) Ships from PRC, UMS KING SIN PHYU SHIN (F-14) from Republic of Union of Myanmar Navy, BRP TARLAC (LD 601) from the Republic of Philippines Navy, RSS STALWART (FFG 72) from Republic of Singapore Navy, HTMS BANGPAKONG (FFG 456) and HTMS NARESUAN (FFG 421) from Royal Thai Navy and VPNS TRAN HUNG DAO and VPNS DINH TIEN HOANG from Republic of Vietnam Navy.
