BUSAN NAVAL BASE, REPUBLIC OF KOREA (ROK), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 – The opening ceremony for the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus Expert Working Group on Maritime Security Field Training Exercise 1 (ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX 1) was held earlier today at the Commander ROK Fleet Auditorium hosted by the ROK Navy (ROKN). Present as the guest of honour was Vice Admiral Park Ki Kyung, Commander of ROK Fleet. Also present were Heads of Delegation, Commanding Officers from participating ships and observers.
The sea phase for ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX 1 will commence tomorrow, Wednesday, 1 May 2019 in the waters of ROK until Thursday, 2 May 2019. On completion of FTX 1, KDB DARUTTAQWA will continue her voyage through South China Sea for FTX 2 which will commence on Thursday, 9 May 2019. FTX 2 will be conducted as planned at South China Sea towards the Republic of Singapore where KDB DARUTTAQWA will be involved in a Compliant Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) exercise. Upon completing FTX 2, KDB DARUTTAQWA will call to Changi Naval Base (CNB), Republic of Singapore for the ADMM-Plus EWG on MS closing ceremony followed by her participation in International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2019.
KDB DARUTTAQWA’s involvement in the series of ADMM-Plus exercises marks RBN’s effort and commitment to further enhance multilateral ties and defence cooperation between the RBN and other navies in the region.
