MUARA, Thursday, 30 August 2019 – The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
Supervisory Course Series 02/2019 was conducted jointly by the Inspectorate Unit (IU) RBAF and the Naval Inspectorate Cell (NIC) of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). The closing ceremony was held today at Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre (NTC), RBN.
Present as a guest of honour and convey the certificate to the participants of the course on behalf of Head Inspectorate Cell RBN was Staff Officer Grade 3 Health, Safety & Environment 997 Lieutenant Abu Qusyairi bin Haji Yacob, RBN. Also present were heads of departments and RBN warrant officers.
The closing ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by 18802 Leading Hand Muhammad Azri bin Kamis. It was then followed by opening remarks the course participants, 1085 Captain Abdul Qahhar bin Hj Abd Mulok who shared his experience throughout the course. The closing ceremony was concluded by a certificate presentation to all the course participants and a group photo.
A total of 16 personnel from RBN and Defence Academy (DA), RBAF participated the three days course, which started from Tuesday, 6 August until Thursday, 8 August 2019. The course consisted of both theory and practical techniques which assessed individual abilities and group works.
The objective of the course is to provide knowledge on the roles and responsibilities of the OHS Supervisor and to understand the RBAF’s OHS Management system and policy. Knowledge on hazard identification and control risk (Risk Assessment and Control Measure) is crucial for every HSE supervisor were also taught to avoid or minimise the risks and consequently making hazards less susceptible at their respective departments.
All course participants are expect to apply their knowledge and implementing it at their respective workplace, thus enabling a more healthy and suitable working environment for RBAF and civilian personnel.
