ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY WATERPOLO & SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP 2023/2024
MUARA, Friday, 3 November 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held the final Water Polo and Swimming Championship 2023/2024 match at the RBN swimming pool this afternoon. Present was the guest of honour, Captain Khairil Hj Abd Rahman, RBN, the Acting Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, RBN officers and ratings. The day witnessed the final water polo match and the finals for two swimming events: 100m relay freestyle and 4x50m relay freestyle combined rank. Armada B emerged as the water polo champion this year after defeating Armada A with a 7-1 lead score. In addition to that, Armada B also dominated the overall best score for swimming competitions.
BASIC BASE DEFENCE OFFICERS’ COURSE SERIAL 2/2023 AND BASE DEFENCE ADVANCED COURSE 2023
FIBUA VILLAGE, PENANJONG, Thursday, 02 November 2023 – Six officers and thirteen Leading Hand of Royal Brunei Navy have successfully completed their courses respectively today, Basic Base Defence Officers Course Serial 2/2023 was held for 8 weeks whereas Base Defence Advanced Course 2023 was held for 5 weeks. Throughout the course, the participants learned the knowledge of deception of warfare and stability Operations. The course included 5 days of the Exercise PANGLIMA Final Exercise, where the participants underwent various scenarios such as setting up Key Point Guards, Defence, Vehicle checkpoints, Anti-Riot and Fighting in Building Urban Areas (FIBUA).
ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES HALF MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIP 2023
Royal Brunei Land Force Second Battalion, Tutong Camp, Thursday, 2 November 2023 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Half-Marathon and 10km Championship Event were organised by the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), at Second Battalion (2Bn). A total of five teams competed consisting of the RBLF, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), RBAirF, Special Forces Regiment (SFR), and the combined forces under the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) which consisted of the Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ), Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF) and Defence Academy RBAF (DA RBAF).
CLOSING CEREMONY OF INTERMEDIATE NAVIGATION OFFICER COURSE 2023
Muara, Thursday, 2 November 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Intermediate Navigation Officer Course (INOC) closing ceremony was conducted, 5 RBN Officers have completed the INOC 01/23. Present as the Guest of Honor was the Fleet Commander, Captain Khairil Haji Abd Rahman, RBN.
Lt JG Nazirul Azlan received the best theory award during the Closing Ceremony of the Range Management Course 02/2023
PENANJONG GARRISON, Thursday, 2 November 2023 – The Range Management Course (RMC) Series 02/2023 closing ceremony was held this afternoon at the Cook House, Support Battalion, Penanjong Garrison. The RMC course consisted of 55 participants from various units of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), which includes two officers and three warrant officers from the Royal Brunei Navy. It was conducted from 07 September 2023 until 03 November 2023.
29TH EXERCISE HORNBILL BETWEEN ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY AND ROYAL MALAYSIAN NAVY
The 29th instalment of Exercise HORNBILL, a collaborative effort between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), took place in Brunei Darussalam, spanning from Sunday, 22nd October 2023 until Saturday, 28th October 2023. This year’s iteration showcased the maritime prowess of KDB DARULAMAN, KDB BERKAT, and the Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) from RBN, along with the dynamic presence of RMN’s KD PERAK and KD BADIK. Occurring biennially, this bilateral exercise serves as a pivotal platform for the exchange of crucial information, fostering an environment geared towards enhancing interoperability between these two naval forces.
