MUARA, Friday, 3 November 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held the final Water Polo and Swimming Championship 2023/2024 match at the RBN swimming pool this afternoon. Present was the guest of honour, Captain Khairil Hj Abd Rahman, RBN, the Acting Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, RBN officers and ratings. The day witnessed the final water polo match and the finals for two swimming events: 100m relay freestyle and 4x50m relay freestyle combined rank. Armada B emerged as the water polo champion this year after defeating Armada A with a 7-1 lead score. In addition to that, Armada B also dominated the overall best score for swimming competitions.
To mark the end of the championship, the guest of honour was invited to present the medal prizes and trophies to the winners of water polo and swimming matches.
The championship began on 31 October 2023 with a knockout system for water polo matches followed by several swimming competitions and saw participation from six teams, namely Armada A, Armada B, Markas TLDB, Markas Perkhidmatan Bantu, Markas Pangkalan and Pusat Latihan Tentera Laut.
This championship is an annual sports event that aims to foster inter-unit relationships within RBN and to scout for new potential water polo players and swimmers to represent RBN at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Water Polo and Swimming Championship
