ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY HOSTS THE 28TH WESTERN PACIFIC NAVAL SYMPOSIUM WORKSHOP
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy is currently hosting the 28th Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) Workshop beginning today until 2 May 2019 at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

BUSAN NAVAL BASE, REPUBLIC OF KOREA (ROK), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 - The opening ceremony for the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus Expert Working Group on Maritime Security Field Training Exercise 1 (ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX 1) was held earlier today at the Commander ROK Fleet Auditorium hosted by the ROK Navy (ROKN). Present as the guest of honour was Vice Admiral Park Ki Kyung, Commander of ROK Fleet. Also present were Heads of Delegation, Commanding Officers from participating ships and observers.

DARUTTAQWA safely arrived at Busan Naval Base, Republic of Korea this afternoon to
participate in the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus Expert Working Group on
Maritime Security Field Training Exercise 1 (ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX 1) with navies of
various countries.

MUARA, Friday, 26 April 2019 – The Commander of Deployment Air-Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DAPE) 34rd, Japan Maritime Self Defence Force Commander Shinji Akamatsu paid a courtesy call to the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily.
OPENING CEREMONY FOR SOUTHEAST ASIA MARITIME EXERCISE 2019 ONBOARD PLA (N) FFG 546 YANCHENG
QINGDAO, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (PRC), Thursday, 25 April 2019 - Deck reception was held in conjunction with the opening ceremony for the ChinaSoutheast Asia Maritime Exercise 2019 (SEAMEX) onboard PLA (N) ship FFG 546 Yancheng. The SEAMEX 2019 started on the 24th April until tomorrow, 26th April 2019. The sea phase will be held in the waters off Qingdao. The event was co-chaired by the Royal Thailand Navy (RTN) and People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). In attendance as the guest of honour was His Excellency Admiral Luechai Rutdit, the Commander-In-Chief of The Royal Thai Navy. Also present for the event, the Commander in Chief of PLAN, His Excellency Vice Admiral Shen Jien Long, and the Chief of Staff of PLAN, Vice Admiral Qiu Yanpeng.
CLOSING CEREMONY OHS SUPERVISOR COURSE 01/19
Muara, Thursday, 25 April 2019 – The three day Occupational Health and Safety Supervisory Course Series 01/2019 jointly conducted by the Inspectorate Unit of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Royal Brunei Navy Inspectorate Cell concluded yesterday in a ceremony held at the Samudera Hall, Naval Training Centre, Royal Brunei Navy. Present to officiate the closing ceremony was the Staff Officer Grade 3, Health, Safety and Environment of RBN Inspectorate Cell, 997 Lieutenant Abu Qusyairi bin Haji Yacob, RBN.
