MUARA, Friday, 26 April 2019 – The Commander of Deployment Air-Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DAPE) 34rd, Japan Maritime Self Defence Force Commander Shinji Akamatsu paid a courtesy call to the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily.
During the call, Commander RBN took the opportunity to welcome Commander Shinji Akamatsu to Brunei. During the courtesy call, they exchanged views on counter piracy and discussed on future potential interactions which could help strengthen the bilateral ties between the two navies. Concurrently, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the JMSDF were conducting a search and rescue exercise (SAREX).
The call was concluded with the gift exchanges between the Commander of RBN and Commander Shinji Akamatsu and a group photo session.
