BUSAN NAVAL BASE, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, Sunday, 28 April 2019 – KDB DARUTTAQWA safely arrived at Busan Naval Base, Republic of Korea this afternoon to participate in the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus Expert Working Group on Maritime Security Field Training Exercise 1 (ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX 1) with navies of various countries. 

The harbour phase will commence on Monday, 29 April, whilst the sea phase will kick off on Wednesday, 1 May 2019, before KDB DARUTTAQWA sets sail to her next destination, Changi Naval Base, Republic of Singapore. The arrival of KDB DARUTTAQWA was received by Commander Cho, Commanding Officer ROKS CHEONJABONG, the ROK Naval Band as well as liaison naval officers assigned to KDB DARUTTAQWA. 

A group courtesy call will be conducted tomorrow afternoon, Monday 29 April by participating ships’ Commanding Officers to Vice Admiral Park Ki Kyung, Commander of Republic of Korea Fleet (ROKFLT), Vice Commander ROKFLT, Director of Maritime Operations Center (MOC), Commander MBG3 and N7 Director. The opening ceremony for the ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX 1 will be held on the following day, Tuesday 30th April at the Commander ROK Fleet Auditorium which will be hosted by the Commander of the ROK 3rd Fleet. During the harbour phase period, KDB DARUTTAQWA will also be participating in various conferences and sports activities amongst crew of participating ships. 

RBN’s participation in ADMM Plus EWG on MS FTX 1 marks a significant milestone in RBN’s effort to further enhance and strengthen multilateral ties and defence cooperation between other navies in the region.
