BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Saturday, 01 July 2023 – The National Flag hoisting ceremony to mark the commencement of a nationwide celebrations of the 77th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam took place today at the vicinity of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex’s open area in the capital.
Twenty personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Abdul Matin Mahdi bin Haji Matassan, RBN marched in to receive the National Flag from the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs.
The National Flag hoisting ceremony also marks the beginning for the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam to hoist the national flag at their respective residences, and in all public and private premises nationwide; reflecting their commitment, patriotism, loyalty and strengthens the love for the monarchy and country.
