BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Saturday, 16 February 2019 - The 35th National Day celebration began with a giant flag hoisting ceremony in the capital. The raising of the giant national flag was officiated by The Honourable Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs.
The giant-sized flag was raised by 20 personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohd Adri Qawiem bin Mohd Jefri, RBN in the vicinity of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.
The ceremony was also attended by First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN and other Service Commanders from Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The theme for this year’s 35th National Day celebration is Menjayakan Wawasan Negara, in line with the nation’s aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035.
