WEST PHILLIPINES SEA, Tuesday, 15 November 2022 – KDB DARULEHSAN conducted a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony on Tuesday evening, 15th November 2022, to celebrate 2 officers and 7 sailors who have completed the recitation of 30
juzuk
of the Al-Quran within the period of the deployment. The ceremony took place in the Junior Rates Mess whilst the ship was transiting through Philippines Waters positioned 140 Nautical Miles North of Balabac Island.
Present at the ceremony were the Commanding Officer of KDB DARULEHSAN, officers and crew of KDB DARULEHSAN. The ceremony was led by the attached officer from the Religious Department of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JAMA’AT) for the deployment, Captain Abd Muiz Azizi bin Zulkifli.
This ceremony was carried out with the intention to commemorate KDB DARULEHSAN’s deployment and to encourage officers and sailors alike to reach a religious spiritual balance whilst carrying out their operational duties, enhance esprit de corps as they recite the Al-Quran as a group, to preserve faith, and support the RBAF core value of ‘Taqwa’
