MUARA, Tuesday, 12 March 2019 - KDB DARUTTAQWA set sail this morning to embark on a 25-day deployment to two destinations, which are Yangon, Myanmar and Langkawi, Malaysia. The ship is scheduled to return to Muara Naval Base on 5 April 2019.
KDB DARUTTAQWA departed to Yangon, Myanmar for a goodwill visit and is scheduled to dock at Thilawa Port from 19 until 22 March 2019. After which, KDB DARUTTAQWA will depart to Langkawi, Malaysia for the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA).
The deployment is led by Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, RBN, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUTTAQWA with a total complement of 84 personnel. Attending as guest of honour during the farewell event was First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). Also present were senior officers, officers and RBN personnel, as well as families of the participating personnel.
This deployment marks a significant milestone in RBN’s trajectory in establishing herself as a reliable maritime partner in the region on both bilateral and multilateral platforms.
