TIEN SA PORT, SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM, Wednesday, 03 October 2018 – KDB DARUTTAQWA (DTQ) safely arrived yesterday for a goodwill visit at Da Nang City, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Present at the welcoming ceremony for the arrival were Defence Attaché of Brunei Darussalam, Lt Col Omar Shariff bin Hidop and representative from the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam to Vietnam along with representatives from Foreign Affairs Department of Da Nang City, Da Nang City People’s Committee, Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) Headquarters, Military Zone 5, Military Command of Da Nang City, Border Guard of Da Nang, Foreign Relations Department from Vietnam Ministry of Defence. It then continued on with ship’s tour for the official attendees from Brunei Darussalam and Socialist Republic of Vietnam onboard DTQ.
The day followed with courtesy calls made by Commander Mohammad Azrin bin Hj Mahmud, Commanding Officer of DTQ upon Major General Doan Kieu, Deputy Commander Military Zone 5 (MZ5) Command at the MZ5’s Command Centre; Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang at the Municipal People’s Committee of Da Nang and Rear Admiral Do Quoc Viet, the Commander of Navy Region 3.
In the evening, DTQ’s Commanding Officer and officers attended a welcoming reception at the Tien Sa Lodge hosted by Senior Captain Phan Van Hiep, Deputy Commander of Navy Region 3.
The program today will continue with a ship visit onboard Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) by DTQ officers and enlisted personnel at the Army Port of Navy Region 3. DTQ officers will then attend an interaction program at Tien Sa Lodge for cultural exchange and luncheon. The program will then be followed by a friendly football match between VPN and RBN personnel and the day will close with a reception onboard DTQ in the evening. DTQ is scheduled to depart Da Nang on the 4th October 2018.
