MAXIE NAVAL BASE, ZHANJIANG, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA,  Sunday, 21 October 2018 – KDB DARUTTAQWA (DTQ) safely arrived in Zhanjiang, People’s Republic of China to participate in ASEAN CHINA MARITIME EXERCISE-2018 (ACMEX-2018) from 21 to 28 October 2018. Participating in this year’s ACMEX along with DTQ are BRP DAGUPAN CITY, RSS STALWART, HTMS TAKSIN and VPN TRAN HUNG DAO.

Present to welcome the arrival of DTQ was Chief Of Staff Officer NAVFORSTC, Senior Captain Wang Xiao Hua and accompanied by the PLA(N) Band.

The day followed with a collective courtesy call on Deputy Commander of NAVFORSTC, RADM Ju Xinchun at the NAVFORSTC Headquarters Admiral Hall by the participating ships Head of Delegations and Commanding Officers. In the evening, a Welcoming Banquet was held at the Sheraton Hotel banquet hall. Present at the Welcoming Banquet was Commander Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander Support Services RBN, Commander Shahrinizam bin Hj Talib, Defence Attache to Brunei Darussalam in Peoples’ Republic of China, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar Bin Ariffin and the Commanding Officer of DTQ, Commander Azrin Bin Hj Mahmud.

The harbour phase interaction program will continue tomorrow onwards with the Commanding Officer of DTQ attending the opening ceremony for ACMEX-2018, courtesy call on the Leader of Zhanjiang City, ship tour onboard PLANS Guangzhou, military sports game, basketball, diving seminar and a Co-party of ACMEX-2018.
