MUARA, Friday, 17 July 2020 – In a ceremony in Muara Naval Base, Lieutenant Commander Pg Mohd Faren Bin Pg Mohd Noor, RBN has assumed Command of the PV80 KDB DARUSSALAM.
Lieutenant Commander Pg Mohd Faren, whose career highlights have included Commanding Officer of KDB IJHTIHAD and NAVSAG as well as several Staff Officer appointments in the Royal Brunei Navy, Joint Force Headquarters and Defence Academy RBAF.
The new Commanding Officer mustered the Ship’s company on the flight deck for morning colours followed by an inspection and his inaugural address where he highlighted his priorities for the Ship and the crew. His priorities outlined the importance of crew welfare, professionalism as well as the ships reputation as the nation’s namesake. Commenting on the assumption of command, Lieutenant Commander Pg Mohd Faren said, “It is a great honour and privilege to return and become the 6th Captain of the ship that I once sailed home as the navigator on her maiden voyage from the Federal Republic of Germany”.
The ceremony concluded with a signing of a parchment and a photo taking session.
