BATAM, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, Thursday, 21 September 2023 –
The Sea Phase for the ASEAN Solidarity Exercise – 01 Natuna (ASEX-01N) commenced with a pre-sail brief to the Deputy Commander Task Group (DCTG) and attended by Commanding Officers and officers from participating naval ships and personnel from National Search and Rescue Body (BASARNAS), Republic of Indonesia.
Participating ships then slipped off in a sequence and made way independently to the rendezvous position in vicinity of Natuna Island, Republic of Indonesia, where the exercises were conducted.
The sea phase exercise saw participation from
Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL), Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and also BASARNAS. Amongst the exercises that was conducted during the sea phase exercise were Officer of the Watch manoeuvres, Tracking exercise, Maritime Interdiction Operation exercise, Replenishment at Sea Approach, Search and Rescue operation, and Medical Evacuation exercise.
After the completion of sea phase exercise, participating ships then proceeded in formation to the anchorage position in vicinity Lampa Strait, Natuna Island lead by KRI JOHN LIE of TNI-AL. ASEX-01N was officially closed with the closing ceremony held at Sabang Mawang and was attended by commanding officers, officers, and personnel from respective participating ships. KDB DARULHESAN has set sail to return to Brunei and is expected to arrive at Muara Naval Base on 25th September 2023.
