MUARA, Tuesday, 6 June 2018 – The Handing over ceremony for the Commandant Naval Training of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) between the outgoing Commandant, Captain Zil Husam bin Abdul Rahman, RBN and the incoming Commandant, Commander Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN was held at Nakhoda Ragam Hall, Naval Training Centre.The incoming Commandant had opportunity to have a tour around the NTC building before the ceremony began for the official handing over ceremony.
The ceremony started with the recitation of surah Al-Fatihah followed with the signing of the handing over the letter of Commandant. The event concluded with the recital of Doa by Able Rate Hanis bin Pawi, RBN.
Captain Zil Husam served his tour as Commandant Naval Training about 9 months starting from 21 August 2017 until 28 May 2018. Along his service as Commandant, there are a lot of developments and improvements that took place, some of these developments include Board of Governance which was introduced in accordance to make faster and efficient decision making and training policy. the outgoing Commandant also gave direction and guidance to materialise the vision for several new projects and new departments such as Naval Surface Action Group Training Department, Naval Leadership Development Unit, Naval Aviation Training Department and the planning of simulator project.
Also in the attendance to witness the ceremony were officers, staffs and instructors of Naval Training Centre.
