MUARA NAVAL BASE, Wednesday, 05 July 2023 – The Base Department, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a Handing Over and Takeover Ceremony for the outgoing Commanding Officer Base, Commander Malai Haszahrin bin Malai Yusoff, RBN and the new Commanding Officer Base, Commander Nazrin bin Haji Sabli, RBN.
The ceremony started with a group photo session with RBN Base officers and personnel in front of the main mast at Parade Square Royal Brunei Navy and continued with the signing of Handover-Takeover Parchment. The ceremony proceeded with a brief from the former Commanding Officer Base, Commander Malai Haszahrin bin Malai Yusoff where he praised the positive expansion and growth of the base and its personnel since his appointment as Commanding Officer Base from the year 2020. He will be holding the appointment of Assistant Chief of Staff N1 Administration and Personnel as his next post.
The newly appointed CO, Commander Nazrin bin Haji Sabli, who previously held the appointment of Staff Officer Grade 1 Maintenance at Directorate of Logistics, Ministry of Defence, had given his first intent to further expand base department and operate at the highest level, empowering each and every officers and personnel as well as maintaining competency at all levels of rank. He also emphasised on the care of the well-being of each and every personnel. The ceremony was then concluded with salutation for incoming CO Base.
