MUARA, Wednesday, 16 November 2022 – The
Maritime Communication Course 01/2022
was conducted by the Naval Training Centre (NTC) Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) from 19th September 2022 to 14th October 2022 where it was concluded with a closing ceremony and presentation of certificates held today at Nakhoda Hall, NTC. Present as the Guest of Honour was the Commandant Naval Training, of RBN,
Commander Willie @ Mathias bin Padan,
RBN. Also present during the event were Acting Head of Inspectorate Cell, RBN Fleet Officers, NTC Officers and Instructors.

A total of five RBN officers attended the four-week course designed to provide the foundation of Maritime Communication knowledge to Fleet Executive Officers for communication duties at sea and instructional duties ashore.  The course is also meant to enhance professionalism of competent Fleet Executive Officers that are able to advise the Command on all tactical communication matters, perform roles expected of Officer-In-Charge of radio room and act as a training manager for the communication department onboard RBN Ships.

Speaking as the course representative, Lieutenant Junior Grade Muhammad Abqari bin Haji Emran, RBN shared their experiences and reflections throughout the course. He highlighted that officers need to be reliable and consistent in executing the communications duties and taskings by implementing the lessons learnt throughout the participant’s career.

The speech was followed by the certificate presentation to the course participants by the Guest of Honor and a closing remark by the Guest of Honor. The closing ceremony ended with a token of appreciation from the course participants, recitation of doa selamat and a group photo session.
