Muara, Friday 10 July 2020 – A certificate presentation and closing ceremony for the First series of Leading Hand Leadership & Management Course 2020 was held at Nahkoda Hall, Naval Traning Centre (NTC), RBN.
Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony was 892 Lieutenant Commander Hidayatul Zabidah Binti Haji Dayang, Commanding Officer of Maritime Technical School. Also present during the ceremony were Navy Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer 1 Pg Mohammad Soffian bin Pg Hj Metussin, as well as other senior ranks and course instructors.
The ceremony started with Al-Fatihah recital by course participant, Leading Hand Mohd Badrul Wathieq bin Hj Azis/Hj Abd Aziz, followed by opening remarks by Leading Hand Wasilah binti Wasni, who shares her experiences and reflections on behalf of the course participants.
The ceremony then followed by certificate presentations by the Guest of Honour to all participants. The best Academic Award was presented to Leading Hand Mohd Ikhrimah bin Zulkefli, while best Amali Award was presented to Leading Hand Md Faqihuddin bin Superi. Best Overall Award was presented to Leading Hand Zulbashirul Habri bin Zulkipli and lastly, best syndicate was presented to Syndicate 2. The ceremony concluded with a closing do’a and a group photo session.
The course, which was attended by 23 Acting Leading Hands, began on Friday, 12 June 2020 until 10 July 2020, conducted by the Leadership and Management Department, Naval Training Centre. This course serves as an initial stepping stone for the acting Leading Hands, exposing them to stages of leadership as they progress further in their career. They have also been taught the values of teamwork and camaraderie or rather its importance, particularly when organising, or managing for a particular event.
