MUARA, Thursday, 13 June 2024 – Commander Md Azrin bin Hj Mahmud, Chief of Staff RBN, attended the 10th Multilateral Maritime Virtual Key Leaders Engagement (KLE) hosted by Admiral Stephen T. Web Koehler, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT). The KLE represents a virtual platform to communicate and discuss matters of mutual concerns, and in this series, discussions revolve around the theme of “Maritime Security Situation Indo-Pacific: Opportunities and Challenges”.
Participants in the KLE included Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Canada, Chile, France (ALPACI), India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Tonga. The virtual multilateral engagement was initiated with the opening remarks delivered by Admiral Admiral Stephen T. Web Koehler, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, he congratulated all participants on their continued commitment to regional security and offered condolences to nations who had recently experienced hardship.
The engagement proceeded with participants presenting their remarks and further elaborating on the theme. The commander of USPACFLT concluded the KLE by thanking participants for their valuable contributions and emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration in addressing regional maritime security challenges. He looked forward to future engagements to strengthen regional partnerships and ensure a stable maritime environment.
