MUARA, Thursday, 03 December 2020 - The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, received a courtesy call at the Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters from Group Captain Graeme Davis, Defense Adviser of the United Kingdom to Brunei Darussalam.

During the call, the Commander of RBN expressed his pleasure for the warm and friendly bilateral defence relations between the two countries. Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, both sides have actively participated in exercise and training, showing that both navies have the common interest in further strengthening Royal Brunei Navy – Royal Navy (RBN – RN) relationship. The discussions during the courtesy call also touched on development of training between both navies.

Group Captain Graeme Davis emphasis commitment to continuing to work with Brunei in support of these shared interests, including training & developments of both organizations and prospective opportunities to further bolster friendly relations. Both sides affirmed the strong bilateral relations shared between RBN and RN that have developed through various interactions amongst senior officers, officers and personnel.

The friendly relations between the UK and Brunei have flourished well beyond defence ties, and shared an interconnected history that dates back to the establishment of diplomatic relations in January 1979.

Group Captain Graeme Davis was appointed Defence Adviser to Brunei Darussalam on May 2019 and he is also the Non-Resident Defence Attaché to the Philippines.
