FIBUA VILLAGE, PENANJONG, Thursday, 02 November 2023 –
Six officers and thirteen Leading Hand of Royal Brunei Navy have successfully completed their courses respectively today, Basic Base Defence Officers Course Serial 2/2023 was held for 8 weeks whereas Base Defence Advanced Course 2023 was held for 5 weeks. Throughout the course, the participants learned the knowledge of deception of warfare and stability Operations. The course included 5 days of the Exercise PANGLIMA Final Exercise, where the participants underwent various scenarios such as setting up Key Point Guards, Defence, Vehicle checkpoints, Anti-Riot and Fighting in Building Urban Areas (FIBUA).
The closing ceremony was conducted in the morning and officiated by the Guest of Honor, Commander Hj Norbahrin bin Hj Muamad, RBN, Head of Inspectorate Cell, Royal Brunei Navy. The event began with Operation Brief from 1131 Lieutenant Junior Grade Fatin Afiqah binti Ramlli, RBN before proceeding to the demonstration of FIBUA. The Guest of Honor, accompanied by Commander Mohammad Nazrin bin Haji Sabli, RBN, Commanding Officer Base, Lieutenant Commander Ahmad Afifi bin Hj Antin, RBN, Officer Commanding Maritime Operation School and Lieutenant Commander Mohd Samsul bin Awg Rosman, RBN, Officer Commanding Base Defence, witnessed the course participants conducting an assault inside a house with live camera.
The highlight of the event was the award presented for overall Best Student of Basic Base Defence Officers Course to 1131 Lieutenant Junior Grade Fatin Afiqah binti Ramlli, RBN and overall Best Student of Base Defence Advanced Course to 50451 Leading Hand Pengiran Abd Matin bin Pengiran Matassan, RBN. The Guest of Honor presented certificates to all course participants, followed by his speech.
