MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 10 February 2023 – Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, received a courtesy call from Commander Trevor E. Parra, United States Coast Guard Attaché whilst in Brunei accompanying representatives of the International Port Security Programme (IPSP). Also present were, Lieutenant Commander Samuel Kim, Chief, Office of Defence Cooperation at the US Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, Chief of Staff RBN, and Staff Officer Grade 3 Naval Research Cell.
During the call, both sides highlighted the friendly relations between the US Navy and RBN established through the robust bilateral defence and military cooperation between the two countries. Discussions continued with potential to leverage Exercise CARAT to expand the scope to include Law Enforcement Agencies from both nations.
