- Leftenan Mirza bin Abdullah dari Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) telah menyertai program Western Pacific Naval Symposium Junior Officers' Interaction 2025 (WPNS JOIP 2025) yang telah diadakan di Surabaya, Indonesia dari 13 hingga 17 Oktober 2025.
Simposium ini menghimpunkan 22 delegasi WPNS dari seluruh rantau Indo-Pasifik bagi mengukuhkan usaha bersama dalam memupuk persefahaman dan kerjasama serantau.
Bertemakan "Fostering Synergy and The Role of Young Officers in Strengthening Naval Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region (Memupuk Sinergi dan Peranan Pegawai Muda dalam Memperkukuh Kerjasama Tentera Laut di Rantau Indo-Pasifik)", simposium ini berjaya mempromosikan persefahaman bersama serta memperkukuh semangat kerjasama dalam kalangan pemimpin muda yang berpotensi, khususnya dalam konteks ketidaktentuan geopolitik yang wujud di rantau ini.
Program ini merangkumi pelbagai pembentangan, perbincangan serta aktiviti pembinaan pasukan dalam kalangan para peserta. Acara susulan termasuk lawatan ke Pusat Penerbangan Angkatan Laut Juanda dan kapal-kapal Angkatan Laut Indonesia di Markas Komando Armada II, Surabaya, dan diakhiri dengan Lawatan Budaya ke Tugu Pahlawan.
WPNS JOIP 2025 mencapai kemuncaknya dengan Majlis Penyampaian Sijil yang disempurnakan oleh Kolonel Laut (P) Agung Nugroho Kusuma Aji. Dalam ucapan beliau, Kolonel Laut (P) Agung menegaskan bahawa sijil tersebut bukan sekadar pengiktirafan penyertaan, tetapi merupakan simbol kepada kerjasama dan persahabatan yang terjalin dalam kalangan pegawai muda tentera laut yang menyertai program ini.

RBN INVOLVEMENT IN STRENGTHENING REGIONAL DEFENCE DIPLOMACY AMONGST JUNIOR NAVAL OFFICERS
SURABAYA, INDONESIA – Lieutenant Mirza bin Abdullah from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) proudly participated in the Western Pacific Naval Symposium Junior Officers’ Interaction Programme 2025 (WPNS JOIP 2025), held in Surabaya, Indonesia, from 13th to 17th October 2025. The symposium brought together 22 WPNS delegates from across the Indo-Pacific region, reinforcing collective efforts to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.
Held under the theme “Fostering Synergy and the Role of Young Officers in Strengthening Naval Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region,” the symposium effectively promoted mutual understanding and strengthened the spirit of collaboration among promising young leaders, particularly in light of the current geopolitical volatility in the region.
The program featured a series of presentations, discussions, and team-building activities. Subsequent events included a facility tour of the Juanda Naval Air Base and Indonesian naval vessels at the 2nd Fleet Command in Surabaya, as well as a cultural visit to Tugu Pahlawan.
The WPNS JOIP 2025 culminated in a certificate presentation ceremony officiated by Navy Colonel (P) Agung Nugroho Kusuma Aji. In his remarks, Navy Colonel (P) Agung emphasized that the certificates were not merely acknowledgments of participation, but rather a testament to the cooperation and friendship forged among the junior naval officers.
