MUARA, Thursday, 31 October 2024 - The Marine and Weapon Mechanic Intermediate M2 Course began on Friday, February 9, 2024, and the Basic General Mechanic M3 Course 147/2024 started on Friday, April 19, 2024. Both courses concluded on Thursday, October 31, 2024. A total of 42 participants successfully completed the courses, with 26 from the M2 course and 16 from the M3 course.
The Guest of Honour for the event was Lieutenant Commander Pg Putera Muhammad Amir Osman bin Pg Haji Matussin, Weapon Engineering Officer of RBN, Maintenance Department, Support Services Headquarters, Royal Brunei Navy. The ceremony was also attended by Officers, Warrant Officers, Senior Rates, and Other Rates from various sub-units of the Royal Brunei Navy.
The primary objective of these courses is to develop skilled technical personnel who are qualified, knowledgeable, and capable of safely and effectively operating and repairing ship systems from the ground up.
During the event, the Guest of Honour delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of continually enhancing technical skills and ensuring that participants are well-prepared and knowledgeable to take on their responsibilities.
Key highlights of the event included the presentation of certificates and patches by the Guest of Honour, followed by a token of appreciation presented to the Guest of Honour by the representative of each respective course.
