HAI PHONG, VIETNAM, Thursday, 12 December 2019 – The Navy-to-Navy Talks between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) was held at the VPN Region One Naval Base in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The meeting co-chaired by the VPN Deputy Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Tran Ngoc Quyet and RBN delegation led by Commander Hj Nor Ariwwin bin Hj Mohd Ali, RBN, Head of Inspectorate.

The Navy-to-Navy Talks between RBN and VPN was the inaugural meeting between both navies. It is a part of the initiatives and continuation by both navies to further strengthened bilateral ties since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in December 2013 between RBN and VPN. Both navies relationship have continued to grow steadily ever since through port visits and high-level exchanges in bilateral and multilateral settings. Additionally, the meeting discussed issues of mutual interest and future cooperation. The next Navy-to-Navy Talks between both navies will be hosted by RBN. 

The RBN delegation also made a courtesy call to Rear Admiral Hoang Hong Ha, Deputy Commander in Chief Vietnam People’s Navy, attended the welcoming dinner reception hosted by Deputy Chief of Staff Vietnam People’s Navy and made a cultural visit during their stay in Vietnam.
