MUARA, Friday, 16 November 2018 – The 1st Navy Staff Talks (NST) between Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Russian Navy came to a close today at Naval Training Centre (NTC), Muara Naval Base, Brunei Darussalam.

The signing of Minutes of Meeting (MoM) was conducted between both Head of Delegations of RBN and Russian Navy. Amongst the outcomes of the meeting include military cooperation between both navies, exchange of experiences, training and courses offered by the Russian Navy, upcoming visits from both navies and countries as well as bilateral exercises.

The Russian Navy delegation then made a Courtesy Call to Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, Acting Commander of RBN at Nakhoda VIP Room, NTC, in which the Acting Commander of RBN acknowledged that the meeting was carried out successfully with mutual respect and agreements from both navies. He further highlighted the strong bilateral relations between RBN and Russian Navy, and between Brunei Darussalam and the Russian Federation.

Following the meeting, three ships from Russian Navy Pacific Fleet, namely VARYAG, ADMIRAL PANTELEYEV, and BORIS BUTOMA will make a goodwill visit to Brunei Darussalam between the 18th and 23rd of November 2018, in which the ships will be open to public on the 21st and 22nd of November 2018.

In the afternoon, the Russian Navy delegation proceeded to make a cultural visit to Kampong Ayer, Bandar Seri Begawan.
