BERAKAS GARRISON, Friday, 7 December 2018 – By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), 68 RBAF officers included 14 officers from Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) were promoted to the next rank in a ceremony that took place at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison. Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, RBAF Commander was present at the promotion ceremony to award the new insignias to the officers.
The newly-promoted officers included 1 senior officers promoted to the ranks of Substantive Captain whom was 380 Commander Norshahrinizam bin Haji Talib, RBN. In addition, 1 officer was promoted to Substantive Lieutenant Commander and 12 officers were promoted to Substantive Lieutenant.
Present at the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence. Also in attendance were First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN, Service Commanders, Commandants, Directors, senior officers and officers of Ministry of Defence and RBAF, as well as family members of the promoted officers.
