MUARA, Saturday, 19 September 2020 – A total of 226kg of trash collected at Pantai Muara in conjunction with the International Coastal Clean Up 2020.
The clean up was a joint venture between 36 personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Brunei Shell Joint Venture (BSJV) Companies and Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad (BGC) for the 7th Annual beach cleaning campaign.
International Coastal Clean Up is the world’s largest single-day volunteering effort to clean up the coastal areas which also includes riverine debris. It is held every third Saturday of September.
The cleaning campaign started with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming remarks by BSM Managing Director, Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil. RBN’s contribution of volunteering plays a big part to support the community in ensuring our coastline continues to be free of waste in order to supplement a healthier marine ecosystem.
