NAVAL TRANING CENTRE, Tuesday, 18 July 2023 – Football Championship organized by Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) started on Monday, 10 July 2023 to Tuesday, 18 July 2023. Armada ‘A’ emerged as champions of the tournament, with Armada ‘B’ taking the runner-up position followed by RBN Headquarters in third place. The final took place on Tuesday, 18 July 2023, at the Muara Naval Base Football Field.
The league was divided into 2 groups consisting of units from RBN Headquarters, Armada ‘A’, Armada ‘B’, Support Service Headquarter, Naval Training Centre, and Base.
By claiming the top position in their respective groups, Armada ‘A’ and Armada ‘B’ proceeded to the final stage to compete for the Royal Brunei Navy Football Championship. Armada ‘A’ emerged as champions after defeating Armada ‘B’ on penalty shoot-out after the score 2-2 at the final whistle.
The prizes were presented by the guest of honor, Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN Acting Commander. Also present to witness the event were members of the RBN Executive Board, officers, and ratings of the RBN. The RBN Football Championship was held to strengthen ties between RBN personnel and to instill sportsmanship among the football players.
