MUARA, Thursday 10 March 2016 – Royal Brunei Navy once again hosted a cross-country competition which was organize by Cdr Hj Edy Jofren bin PDP Hj Abd Jalil. This competition was aimed to test physical endurance for all RBN personnel and to be selected as a candidates for RBN in the upcoming RBAF Cross Country Competition.
The guest of honor for this event was First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. Also present and joining this competition were RBN senior officers and personnel.
This cross-country competition was divided into two category: a 12km cross-country run and 5km fun run. The team from ‘Armada A’ emerged champion for RBN Cross-country competition. Meanwhile, for the Open Category, won by Ls Roslani bin Japar with a time of 50:57. While for the Veteran Category aged 40 years old and above, it was won by BK Pg Norhusaini bin Pg Hj Hussin with a time of 1:02:08.
Cross-country is a unique sport that required skills and challenges physical and mental as well as putting each team’s strategic and communication skills to a test. The championship’s aims is to strengthen the comradeship among players while at the same time to seek the most potential players towards representing the Ministry of Defence and RBAF to compete in the national and regional arena.
