M​​UARA NAVAL BASE, Tuesday, 18 July 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy held an event to commemorate the New Islamic Year 1445 Hijrah. The event was attended by navy ratings and officers, and the Commandant Support Services, Captain Hj Nor Ariwwin bin Hj Mohd Ali, RBN. Similar events were also held at all suraus in Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) garrisons, camps and bases including Pulau Baru-Baru.

The event began with the recitation of Doa Akhir Tahun Hijrah 1444, followed by a mass Maghrib Prayer, led by Imam of Surau Al-Huda. The recitation of Doa Awal Tahun Hijrah 1445 marked the beginning of the new Islamic year, with attendees invoking blessings and seeking guidance for the future.

Surah Yassin and Tahlil were then recited, fostering an atmosphere of contemplation and reflection. The event culminated in a mass Isya’ Prayer, led by Imam of Surau Al-Huda.

This religious event demonstrates the navy’s commitment to unity and spirituality. The celebration of the New Islamic Year represents a time of renewal, introspection, and anticipation for a year filled with blessings and prosperity.
