MUARA, Friday, 5 April 2019 – Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) received the homecoming of KDB DARUTTAQWA after a month long deployment participating in Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition 2019 and a goodwill visit to Thilawa Port, Myanmar. Present to welcome back the ship’s company was Deputy Commander of RBN, Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily, RBN. Also present to receive KDB DARUTTAQWA were senior officers, officers and RBN personnel, as well as families of those on deployment.
KDB DARUTTAQWA sailed to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for a goodwill visit before proceeding to Langkawi, Malaysia for the LIMA 19 Fleet Review, hosted by the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). The deployment ended with the LIMA Sea Exercise 19 (LSX 19).
The deployment was commanded by Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, RBN, with a total complement of 84 personnel. The deployment marks a significant milestone in RBN’s trajectory in asserting herself as a competent and reliable maritime partner on both bilateral and multi-lateral platforms.
