MUARA, Tuesday 7th March 2016 – Commodore Iqbal Javaid SI (M), Assistant Chief of Naval Training as the Head of Delegation was received by Captain Haji Othman bin Hj Suhaili@Suhaily, Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) for the Pakistan Staff Course Officers visit to RBN.
During the arrival at the Multi-National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Commodore Iqbal Javaid along with 17 Naval Staff course colleagues received a short organization brief of the RBN. The welcoming officer was Commander Muhammad Hadi Syarifuddin bin Hj Muhammad Hassanal Mega, Commanding Officer Training RBN.
Subsequently they proceeded to the patrol vessel KDB DARUSSALAM for a ship visit. The welcoming officer was Commander Hj Nor Ariwwin bin Haji Ali, Commanding Officer KDB DARUSSALAM.
The event concluded with a courtesy call by Commodore Iqbal Javaid to the Acting Commander of RBN. He expressed his appreciation to for making the effort for organizing the visit.
The discussions of the courtesy call focused on bilateral defence cooperation between respective navies through training and exercises, as well as future initiatives to strengthen maritime cooperation.
This signifies the longstanding relationship between both countries. This was a great opportunity for both countries to further strengthen bilateral relationships and plan ahead for future activities.
