MUARA, Wednesday, 11 December 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed participants from the East Asia Hydrographic Commission Workshop organized by the Survey Department and Maritime and Port Authority Brunei Darussalam for a working visit. The group consisted of 26 personnel led by Noorazlin Haji Mohammad. The visit is part of their program to learn best practices from the RBN.
The tour commenced on board KDB DARULAMAN, welcomed by Commander Md Azrin bin Hj Mahmud, RBN, the Commanding Officer of KDB DARULAMAN. A short brief on the bridge was conducted by the Navigation Officer, Lieutenant Mohammad Suwady Syakin bin Suffari, RBN, on basic chartwork and publications used by RBN.
The group were also given insight on the uses and function of the Electronic Chart Display Information System (ECDIS), before touring the ship guided by the officers and crew to Ratings Mess, Rigid Hull Inflatable Craft (RHIC) deck, forecastle deck, sickbay and bridge.
