BANDARI SERI BEGAWAN. Sunday, 10 March 2024 - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to participate in the cycling event ‘Riadah Berbasikal Semangat Hari Kebangsaan 2024’ with other members of the Royal Family at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien.
Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) participated in the mass recreational cycling event that was conducted in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 40th National Day.
Among the participating cyclists were personnel from the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
Also taking part from RBN were Captain Haji Mohd Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, the Acting Commander of RBN, the executive board members of RBN, senior heads of departments, officers and ratings of RBN.
The 10.30-kilometre cycling route started off from Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, trailing through major roads such as Jalan Eizabeth II, Jalan Stoney, Jalan Haji Basir, Jalan Gadong, Jalan Perdana Menteri, Jalan Kumbang Pasang, Jalan Sekolah SOAS dan St Andrews , Jalan RIPAS, Jalan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien; and back to Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien as the finishing line.
Another side event that the RBN took part in was the Subuh Prayers and Tazkirah Subuh held at Masjid Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The titled of tazkirah was “Bersatu Mencapai Cita Negara” delivered by Yang Mulia Ustaz Haji Awang Muhammad Najib bin Haji Awang, Religious Officer, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
